Title: Trying to get Elliott invited to Maine...
ladycentaur - July 9, 2010 10:03 PM (GMT)
There is a waterfront concert series being put together in Bangor, Maine. I contacted the organizer and suggested that they book Elliott. I provided a link to the official site, all the official videos, some live videos, the site that lets you preview Elliott's music and did my best to convince the planner to book Elliott here. This is the response I got:

Thank you for your interest in our series. I briefly checked his site and he doesn’t seem to actually be touring just doing one offs. With our hands full for this summer I don’t see this coming together but definitely a possibility for a future show. A lot of people have contacted us about doing a more pop act so we are currently in negotiations with Jason Mraz. Hope that will suffice for now.

I wrote back saying that Elliott often does shows even if he's not touring. I also suggested that they could always consider booking both Elliott and Jason Mraz on the same day. Apparently they have also been trying to book Adam Lambert, The Jonas Brothers and a few others.

Thank you LC for trying to get Elliott an 'at bat' at this event. This is just my opinion, but the response you got was pretty lame.

Hey Sk8888...that actually wasn't a bad response. They are trying to book people who are already touring nearby because many event planners up here assume that no well-known artist would ever make a special trip way up here. Each of the acts they have gotten or are trying to get are on tour. They are assuming that since he's not already doing a show in New England this summer there is no way that he would come perform in Bangor for a price they could afford. I wish there was a way to get someone in Elliott's camp to contact them instead.

HI Yall, Ladycentaur if there is anything I can do to help just let me know. I'm a good friend of Elliotts Manager. I hope I can help. Thank you very much!

Oh, okay, I see your/their point.
I have no idea how much air fare from LA to Bangor might be.

MyIdolElliott...that's great! I will PM you the contact information and you can pass it along to your friend. The venue will have seating for a minimum of 5,000 people. Also, Bangor is a "hub" city (albeit a very small city) that serves the entire northern half of the state. Maine's largest college is a couple of towns away (University of Maine in Orono). This area has been almost completely starved of live music from well-known artists for a long time. It's getting better this summer and people are very excited. I think it would be an incredible opportunity for Elliott to reach a very large crowd, especially if he doesn't charge an outrageous fee for playing here.
I'll send the contact info of the person who responded to my email in PM.

boy do you and I think alike! I was thinking the same thing! Also, how about getting him into the Hollywood Slots for a show;) They are bringing in a lot more bigger named acts in there lately too, and that would be the PERFECT setting for him! I have a friend who works at the slots and said the guy that does the booking would need a demo and Elliott's manager info, so there is another possibility. I do believe that sometime in the near future, between the waterfront, the slots, and maybe something like the Kahbang festival, he will be here! Good on you for contacting the guy for the waterfront;) I wouldn't have the first clue who to get in contact with
