HCJ with Letterman.
I think he could be a comedian, if he couldn't sing, write or play the piano:

whew! after this season, it would take Harry to make me watch next year. Love him, and I think he was a great mentor

I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me is happy because I love Harry but part of me doesn't like him slumming (especially since Idol is a sad remnant of what it once was).

^^ TrueBlue,
I think HCJ can actually restore some credibility to the show.
Honestly, I would also be really fine if Ryan Seacrest left too. It was truly nice how much he cared for Elliott while he was on the show, but that was ages ago.
He's just gotten too comfortable, and I think his schtick is getting old.

oh I'm glad you create this thread! I really like HCJr - What do you think about having him AND Ellen on the same panel? It could be really great - they have such a rapport. I actually really like Kara now - she seems to really know her stuff - although I didn't feel that way a year ago. And Randy ....... I don't know - his "dawg" schtick might be wearing thin - I wouldn't be surprised to see him go very soon..........

I think Ellen and HCJ on the same panel would be very entertaining! And Kara respects him for his musical talent. What could be better?

I don't know too much about Bret Michaels, but he seems likable and smart. It will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe these are just teasers to get people talking, and then they'll end up finding someone we've never thought of.

bret michaels? well, that is going to give a different feel to the show. far too different, if you ask me.
the HCJ idea is worlds better for me. the episodes with him on were one of the very very few ones i thoroughly enjoyed this season. and with him and ellen on the judges' panel, it is bound to be entertaining.

You're right Sk8888. It would definitely help the show to have a replacement who knows a thing or two about music (more than we can say about Simon).
