Title: Cant Make You Love Me (Original Cut) & Torn Down
Description: New beat & Brandy Demo
benjw13 - March 14, 2010 10:47 AM (GMT)
Hey guys!
Sorry not to have posted in a while, has been a busy time.
I just found a new version of 'Can't make you love me' which has a new beat. (Think I prefer the other version, but see what you guys think?)
I have also came across 'Torn Down' - the super hot tune written by James Fauntleroy and prod. by Midi Mafia which is on Brandy's album 'Human'. It is a rough edit but elliott still sounds good! Would have been a great song for him, but he had quite a few great midi mafia tracks on FOL already! Let's hope for more on the next album, especially if they are penned by Fauntleroy.
Well I hope you enjoy!

As I posted in another spot on the E-train, I just love, love, love "Torn Down". Even though it's a leak and sounds more like a demo it is better than the majority of songs out there on the radio. The disheartening thing is Elliott has so much talent and the songs he has put out are fantastic so I don't understand why they aren't played on mainstream radio. Instead I am subjected to songs with lyrics like (what follows are the exact lyrics, and it was by Justin Bieber I think, kind of bubble gum pop meant for tweens):
"Shorty is an eenie, meanie, miney, moe lover". :clubbed:
I asked myself aloud "Really?" :dunno:
I am just proud of Elliott that he can keep such a positive attitude about it all.

Sorry i didnt see your other post. But completely agree, not sure why he isnt promoted - could simply be down to the big machine and who they think they can market and promote more...justin has the cute factor that tweens love, they have more buying power! sad times.

A Brandy fan has created a very nice mashup of E's and B's versions of Torn Down. (PM for link).

It's just how the biz works-talented artists get shafted in favor of what's "marketable." Let's be serious-Bieber is NOTHING special but all you have to do is look at a certain tween idol that was popular when I was a tween-Aaron Carter. He wasn't anything great either and lost his popularity as soon as his voice changed, but record companies just look at patterns and go with what's safe. Personally I don't get it-Elliott makes music that is great AND marketable. Perhaps the fact that he isn't "traditionally handsome" plays a role (although I've always thought he was adorable) or the fact that you don't normally find small Jewish guys singing R&B. Ahhh screw record companies, I say what makes him different is what makes him awesome to me :elliottelliott:
