Title: Elliott learn something

healegria - March 10, 2010 12:21 AM (GMT)
Please read this last paragraph in the Elliott's LA Times interview:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/americanid...-own-words.html

"I have a feeling some of this experience will end up in my music. It's not like I'm planning on it, but I'm pretty positive it will come out naturally. It'll definitely inspire me. It already has. I was being a stupid, spoiled American complaining about the festival when the quake struck. And in an instant, I worried if we were actually going to live. How it changed was so abrupt that it makes you think: There's so much more important things in life to be upset about or mad about"

Wow man!!! He actually is a very smart guy, as I predicted, read my Feb 28, 2010 post:
"Yes, Im totally understand to Elliott, as Im a son of a Diabetic father. Im not writing this commentary for him, Im writing it for the people in this forum who loves him, and is concerned for his safety. Stay calm, by sure Elliott (at the end) will learn a lot about this situation so extreme and will growth. by sure Elliott will turn into a even a better person"

He went to the next level in those experiences he actually growth and learn something

I'm so happy, great singer, nice person and a very smart guy

You are right - he always takes whatever life hands him and learns from his experience - and like I said about you - you are a very wise man :-)

^^^

A very honest interview. I agree that Elliott will probably never be the same again. And we already thought he was a pretty great guy. But now, a little wiser too.

Man! I love this picture:

Is in downtown Santiago (old part of the city, very close to "Chile's Kilometer Zero" near to the main square)

Great picture. He looks good and it shows that Santiago was indeed back to business as usual very quickly.

Other things I liked about the story....I was wondering why Elliott picked "Rock Around the Clock," and FINALLY got that it was chosen for him.

The other part that is interesting is that many of the musicians and singers from other countries DID choose to leave by way of Mendoza. I have to say, I would have waited it out like Elliott did. Going over narrow mountain passes after an earthquake is beyond a "white knuckler" experience. But it just goes to show you how people made different decisions.

HI Yall, Another incredible part of this artical is when Elliott says The Jewish holiday of Purim is about celebrating miracles, which is exactly what that Chile trip was. That none of us got hurt, that we weren't in a devastated area or had to see any crazy...and how we made it through this 8.8-magnitude quake and lived to tell about, it truly was a very Purim-like miracle. Yes its very incredible Elliott is here to talk about it & that is soooo brilliant!!!! I'm just soooo excited & happy we didn't loss our Funky White Boy Elliott!!!!

I so agree with you healegria that this will inspire him in many ways..I really hope that someday he can reunite with some of the other musicians he was there with..Loved it that they had a bit of a jam session while being out on the streets after the quake..music seems to always make things a little better...

You know what? I dont wanna sounds ridiculous, but when I read the LA Times article I feel his story is very clear and normal (not exagerated).

Sounds like Elliott has his feets very stick to the ground

I agree that Elliott has his feet planted to the ground as well. He has faced alot of things in his life that would have "tripped up" a normal person. I believe that Elliott possess amazing strength. While in Chile my prayers for him were to keep him from harm and give him strength (physically and mentally). I tweeted him a quote from Corrie Ten Boom and it states "If God sends us on strong paths, we are provided strong shoes". I know that he never probably saw it but the quote also made me feel better. I truly believe in the saying "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger". I think that this will be a learning experience for Elliott to become a better person in ways he probably never imagined.

HI Yall, I know Elliott has Emazin strength & hes is a very powerful strong willed person & wth his fans, friends & family by his side he will get through this just fine, but it my take time. With the huge kind of heart Elliott has he will make it through!!!! Elliott said I tried to go see "Alice In Wonderland", and the noise from the surround sound triggered little things you'll always remember-what came through the speakers was bringing me back to that earthquake noise. It was weird. Elliotts lookin good and Elliotts smiling on the outside, but on the inside we don't know what Elliotts feeling because we aren't in his shoes. Elliott said I have a feeling some of this experience will end up in my music. I know these type of experiences will change anybody in differant ways.
