Thanks Harley. I'm glad that you made a thread on it as I probably would have missed it otherwise. It's an excellent article.

HI Yall, Harleywoman Thank you very much for posting this LA Times artical!!!! It really is one of the most incredible Elliott articals of all the articals writen on Elliott in Chile!!!! This artical really has alot of details!!!! MOMster Thank you very much for posting these beautiful incredible photos from the artical!!!! These photos really show what a great time Elliott had. Not just the bad things that happened. In the photo Elliott standing on the street corner in Chile it looks like Elliotts been working out!!!! Yes indeed this wonderful artical needed its own thread!!!!

It's right on the front page of the latimes.com website. It's a good article, everyone should read it.

Yes, it sure is - http://www.latimes.com/

It's on the bottom right, under Entertainment! (?)

We all know what a humble sincere guy Elliott is but reading this article almost takes my breath away to hear how honest he is as well. How many other celebs would admit to being scared, whiney, or even tearful about anything. I didn't think I could admire Elliott more but guess what....I do now!

Thanks for posting this.

lindagt - March 9, 2010 08:41 PM (GMT)

Yes, and I respect the accountability he displays. He takes responsibility instead of making excuses. That's very much a sign of leadership. But he also isn't apologizing for anything he's done, which I love. He's just a normal person with normal reactions. I won't ever fault him for how he handled himself in a crisis that most people will never experience.

Have they changed it already? I can't find it on the front page.

I also agree with the comments about Elliott's candidness in speaking about the situation and his reactions to it. From that first head nod in agreeing with Randy who was the best in the "Brittenum Four" :) , I have been impressed with Elliott's ability for self-evaluation without being unnecessarily humble or over confident.

HI Yall, One of the most incedible things I have to point out in this artical Elliott said each night of the Music Festival there was 50,000 to 60,000 people in the crowd. So Elliott performed "Rock Around The Clock" 3 times & if you add up all 3 nights Elliott performed for 50,000 to 60,000 people thats 150,000 to 180,000 people total that Elliott performed for. Know that is the largest crowd Elliott has ever performed for!!!! I know all the people were not there to see Elliott because the Chilean people didn't know who he is, but thats still incredible!!!! Years back on 4th Of July when Elliott performed at the White House I don't know how many people there were, but not as many as at the music festival in Chile. When Elliott performed a concert at Innbrock in Richmond, VA there was 6,000 people.

That was an incredible article. Loved it! It just can't be said enough, his humility and honesty moves me. Love ya, Elliott. Oh, and I loved his arms, lol. They moved me, too! :thud: :thud:

Fantastic article. Thank you, Harley.

itslate - March 10, 2010 05:55 AM (GMT)
Thanks Harley, it was kinda neat that it was E's story, and not him answering a bunch of the same questions.

"..the Chilean God saw my tweet and the building started shaking. The timing was so ironic"

It's easy to laugh about this now.

I keep thinking that THIS is the story people need to read about Elliott's experience in Chile.

He is human, has meltdowns, makes decisions, and knows that whatever he thought was so important before the earthquake is minor in comparison.

I also agree with a Tweet by someone who said they will never blame Elliott for anything he did or didn't do after the earthquake. I am so in tune with that. If you are tied at the hip to any sort of medication on a day-to-day basis, or get into a situation where you either ration meds or go without, you know how that can mess with your head.

Huge aftershock - near Santiago! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35815392/ns/world_news-americas

Thank goodness Elliott got out of there when he did, but my heart goes out to the Chileans.

(So weird, right now on TV they are showing a beautiful promo about fresh fruit from Chile available at our local grocery store.)

I just saw this! Too large to even call an aftershock if they are honest. Seems like they have been suffering continuous earthquakes for two weeks now. Even a country built to withstand quakes must be suffering greatly!

And someone from the USGS said there will now be aftershocks from the aftershocks..my heart goes out to the people of Chile.

Hey...haven't been around in a while...so glad Elliott is home safe and sound. His story has been amazing. And how he handles himself...with such humility and class...very proud of him.

He keeps reminding me how important it is to not take anything for granted...we never know when our time is up. The only moment we have is this one...

Thanks Elliott.
