I'm watching the Top 7 show now, but Elliott was up first so the rest of the show is filler. :)

They showed a great closeup of Claudette and Auntie Sheryl was in the audience.

Elliott had one of his classic eye-popping reactions when Simon said the performance lacked personality. :rotfl: Of course, we already know this but it's fun to watch it again.

I watched it earlier. I loved how Rod Stewart really like Elliott. I always thought Simon did exactly what Elliott thought. In fact, I remember there being a lot of discussion about that back when it first aired. It's so much fun to see it all over again. :)

I agree. I told my husband to listen to Simon after Elliott's performance and he'd hear Simon saying "top" that spurred the voters to pick up the phone and call in.

It's so much fun reliving this season. Each week I tell Husband Dear that this one is my favorite Elliott performance. LOL.

HI Yall, I can't believe how Season 5 was & is the best season in American Idol History!!!! I remember Elliott's Mom used to sing this song when she was a singer back in the day!!!! Then Elliott sang this song "It Had To Be You"!!!! This song really is an oldie but goody!!!! I think Elliott sang this song brilliant!!!!

That's so great, harley - was that in Richmond? Sounds like they were playing a number of Elliott's AI songs (I heard "Trouble" at the end.)

It was in Richmond the day before the AI Tour concert. A lot of people came to Richmond that weekend for Elliott's hometown AI Tour stop. This was a JDRF/fan party, we had the whole place and the radio station was involved. I actually met Amanda for the 1st time that weekend. She came from Arkansas for it.

Did anyone else notice that Elliott actually said "I disagree" to Simon? Twice :)

Besides the raised eyebrows to Simon's comments, Elliott also gave something like a wink when Paula was disagreeing with Simon. Here's my attempt to capture those two "moments" with animated gifs (I repeated 20 times so they do eventually stop):
