Title: Elliott featured on new iPhone app

IdolsNow - January 29, 2010 10:15 AM (GMT)
We've created a new app for the iPhone, IdolsNow. News, event listings and exclusive video interviews with finalists from the first eight seasons. Elliott is in the first group of Idols to have an interview posted.

You can download the app for free from the iTunes store. There is a premium content section for 99 cents a month, and that includes the exclusive video interviews.

We're adding new content all the time. News is updated several times a day and Events updated every day.

You can view a video about the app here:

The news on IdolsNow is written by Fred Bronson, who covered Idol for many years for Billboard.

Hope you enjoy the app!

HI Yall, I don't have an Iphone ether because you have to have AT&T Cell phone service & I have Verizon. Only AT&T carrys the Iphone. I do have "Can't Keep On Loving You" as my ring tone!!!! How great is that!!!!

FYI, for anyone interested in this IdolsNow App.

I have an iPod Touch and downloaded the app. I also purchased the "premium content" for 99¢/month - but the only premium content for Elliott was one "exclusive interview" that wouldn't load/play properly for me - kept stopping & starting. It was an old interview anyway - I hadn't seen it before, but it looked like it was probably done a few months ago and I didn't learn anything new (always nice to see an Elliott interview though.)

The premium content subscription doesn't renew automatically, and I won't buy that again - just cuz I'm not that interested in tracking other artists that closely.

There are over 100 artists included in the app, but not a lot of content yet - looks like they will keep adding content over time. Kind of a fun app if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, and want to have information about several idol contestants. At this time, Elliott's piece includes 10 songs, 7 images (including CD covers and headshots,) and links to his Myspace, Twitter and YouTube pages. It's nice to have all that in one place.

Hope those of you who have downloaded the app are enjoying it. We've been keeping our viewers informed of the USA Today poll for favorite 3rd place Idol and Elliott's commanding lead.

All of the video interviews done for the app are original, and are new, including Elliott's. As MOMster suggests, we will be adding new content every month. There will be new interviews, exclusive music performances and special on-location features.

There is plenty of free content, so you don't have to subscribe to enjoy the app, but these extra features are available. BTW, you only subscribe for one month at a time and it does not automatically renew.

If you enjoy the app, please let us know.

No iphone here, but would love an itouch. Someday. Looks like a neat app, but better in the future. So Elliott did the interview exclusively for this app?

MOMster - February 20, 2010 06:14 PM (GMT)
Yep - Elliott's interview is exclusive (~6-1/2 min.) for the idolsnow app.

There's also a "News" feature on the app that is simply the tweets from the idolsnow twitter page here: http://twitter.com/idolsnow

And regarding the iPod Touch - it's kinda nice if you can find places with free wi-fi. I was just at the Mayo Clinic for an entire day last week and had a lot of down time waiting between appointments. I was happy to find that I was able to connect to the internet anywhere in the complex. But I'd rather have an iPhone - maybe someday I'll switch to AT&T.

MOMster already answered itslate's question, but we just wanted to confirm that Elliott came to our studio and recorded the interview, which was conducted by Fred Bronson. Fred reported on Idol for Billboard for many years and first met Elliott when he was on Idol. Fred also had a special connection with Claudette Yamin. They met during Elliott's season and a few months later had a memorable night out in New York City. They had dinner at a Russian restaurant and Fred took Claudette to see "The Color Purple." It was an unforgettable evening for both of them.

IdolsNow is very happy to have Fred conducting all of our Idol interviews and to be reporting the news for our app (which is also available for non iPhone users on Twitter, @IdolsNow ).

That's a really cool story about Fred Bronson taking Claudette out on the town. She certainly touched many lives. I once saw a greeting card that said, "She loved life and it loved her right back." It must have been written with her in mind.

MOMster - March 21, 2010 05:54 AM (GMT)
Fred Bronson, the guy who took Claudette out to dinner and a broadway play, says, "if all goes as planned, I'll be on the show Tuesday night...".. http://twitter.com/FredBronson/status/10807122274

and see MJ's story on Fred ... http://mjsbigblog.com/more-clues-to-this-weeks-theme.htm "By the way, Bronson is the guy behind the awesome Idols iPhone app, Idols Now."
