It is an American Idol Tour tradition that the winner performs the winning song on tour - no matter how bad the song is (Think "This is My Now" and "Inside Your Heaven")... But this year's winners song is so awful that even the AI people in charge of the tour have decided to scrap it: Kris Allen performed "No Boundaries" for only the first 3 stops on the American Idol Tour, and as of tonight he has gotten rid of it in favor of The Killers "All These Things That I've Done".
One review of opening night described "No Boundaries" in this way:

| Next up, it's No Boundaries, but it's not getting anywhere near the level of reaction that Heartless did. In fact, people are starting to sit down. It's just inexcusable that the Idol winner has to include a song that elicits that kind of reaction. It's a set killer. I'd heard the studio version of No Boundaries just enough since the Idol season ended that I'd almost decided it was benign, but Kris has to be royally ticked that he's been shackled to this ball and chain. |
LOL wonder how Kara DiaGuardi feels about this? :P
Looks like they made the fans the decision makers for this one. Smart move to listen for a change.
Kris sings it well for what it is but it was kind of out of place in his set in Portland it was almost like they snuck it in there it was weird.
