I just wanted to thank Elliott for helping "Someday". Early Saturday morning my grandmother passed away. She had been in hospice care for about 10 weeks or so. She had been diagnosed with Parkenson's and had been having problems with her digestive system and not being able to eat. She did not want a feeding tube. Anyhow long story short I wanted to participate in the service. I had thought about reciting part of the lyrics, the part where it say "Still carry the memory of you in my head ...and that you would want me to go on ahead. I ended up not doing it and did something else instead but the song has been such a comfort to me. I actually wrote part of the lyrics on a notecard and was reading them to myself during the service. Anyhow my Grandma did not necessarly believe in an afterlife but I do think she is in a better place. Anyhow I know that this much have been the hardest song for you to write and I know there are probably others out there who are going though greif that appreciate it too.
i'm sorry about your grandma, but you are very right that this song is a very great song. I'm glad it helped you.
My condolences too. Last week, I gifted a friend with the F4L album from iTunes. Then the following day, his spouse suddenly died from heart attack. I urged him to listen to "Someday", if nothing else. I am glad that he did because now, he truly appreciates the song. He is saying that it is a very healing song, plus the singer is just tops.
Sorry for you loss too.
I think we all have "someone" that song could apply to.
Although whenever I hear it I can just picture him singing it to Claudette.
