This has nothing to do with Elliott whatsoever, except that I am having major keyboard issues and can't post on my laptop. I am using my sons pc at the moment.

All of a sudden, when I type the letters jkl, it is relaced by 123. A few other keys are messed up as well. Anyone have a clue as to what to do to rectify this problem? I tried going to my control panel and check my language settings, even though I hadn't changed anything, but thought maybe I had done something accidentally. No luck there.

Your Fn key may be stuck in an active position. (I Googled this answer, BTW. My laptop is set up that way too, so it makes sense.)

Tap it a few times and see if that helps.

gracestreet! wow, this sort of works, so definitely is the problem. I have tapped it, but I have to hold it down to get the keys to type the correct thing. I'll keep fiddling and see what happens. Thank you so very much!!

GraceStreet, once again, thank you for your help. I'm not sure if I would have found the solution without your help. I googled the Fn key and found a forum where someone had the same problem. Someone there, suggested the Numbers lock key above the F11 key on the Dell Inspiron 1501 was stuck. I tapped that one, and....voila...everything is working again!!
