Title: Elliott Bought A House

PoorMe - January 16, 2009 04:17 PM (GMT)
Suddenly it's not a secret. See Idol Chatter: Elliott also recently bought a house in the Los Angeles area, and he moved in last Friday.

"It's a very Vegas-y looking house," he says. "The backyard looks like an oasis: It's got a pool, a hot tub, a barbecue area, a fire pit. It's kind of an entertaining home."

Elliott says the 4,200-square-foot house has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, an office and a two-car garage. But the house's kitchen and living room, he says, convinced him to buy. "The kitchen is just amazing, and it's kind of connected to the living room. It's a cool chill area I think we'll spend most of our time in."

Elliott enjoys the feeling of being a first-time home buyer. "It's a pretty big dream come true for me," he says. "I've always wanted to be a homeowner and have a place I can call my own. I'm really excited."

Sounds wonderful!

jamie50 - January 16, 2009 04:44 PM (GMT)
That's a pretty big house. Hope he bought it from a motivated seller. Now the second CD really has to be a success. :)

lindagt - January 16, 2009 04:54 PM (GMT)
That's great news for him! I haven't heard about Elliott really splurging on anything big since his success - so this is well deserved! And from all the stuff we've heard about the CD - there's no way it won't be successful - as long as we can get people to listen to it and play it on the radio!

Now whoever said we should all be invited there for a party?..... yeah, sounds like fun!

Well, CONGRATS on the new house!! It IS very exciting to own your home, especially if it has an oasis in the backyard! ;)

I think the size of the home is great, as he & Jaime can eventually 'grow' with it...if ya catch this pregnant ladies drift! :eyebrows:

He seems to be pretty prudent about money, so I'd say this speaks to confidence in the way his balance sheet looks! ... Also good sense -- Buy low, sell high. Good for you, Elliott. An "entertaining house" with hang-out areas in the kitchen-spilling-into-the-living-room is so much his personality. Very cool news.

ps...and maybe a couple little Elliott's

cfans - January 16, 2009 06:29 PM (GMT)
Congrats to Elliott.

This news makes me feel even more optimistic about his future. I believe that he would not have purchased this large a house if he didn't feel that this was something he could afford in the long run.

Here's to much happiness and great memories to be built.

GypsyNFla - January 16, 2009 07:06 PM (GMT)
Congrats Elliott on being a homeowner.

MOMster - January 16, 2009 07:06 PM (GMT)
Jaime seems to have a good career going herself - perhaps they are co-owners.

No - not looney, perfectly sane. I remember that too. He talked about it in an interview where he described what it was like the first time he heard "Wait for You" on the radio. If I remember rightly, I think the car was a Lexus.

harleywoman - January 16, 2009 07:28 PM (GMT)
He bought a car after the AI Tour I believe and it was an Acura, don't remember the model. I remember him been asked what he spent the tour money on or something like that.

I agree Cfan!!

.....and he is now an official resident of California y'all!!

He's probably got a jury duty summons already in the mail to him.

Sk8888 - January 16, 2009 08:01 PM (GMT)
^^

He'll have to get an apartment in NY at some point, and a condo in Hawaaii.... :justkidding:

Me too! I get one every year, but I haven't had to come to the courthouse in years. I keep thinking, "this is the year they'll get me," lol.

Yeah, it was an Acura - because I remember thinking - well isn't that a lot more "sensible" than "flashy"? That's why I feel like he's probably being sensible about the house - but it still sounds fabulous!

chattycb - January 16, 2009 08:41 PM (GMT)
That's wonderful news! The home sounds lovely. Thanks, Poor Me for the link.
CONGRATS ELLIOTT ON YOUR HOME PURCHASE! MAZEL TOV!

Elliott, if you read this, you totally have to invite us all to your home. You can sing the full version of "A House is Not a Home" to us in that beautiful backyard of yours. LOL

Congratulations and I wish for you many years of happy moments and memories in your new home!
