Title: Important Patch For Ie
Description: To be released today

itslate - December 17, 2008 01:55 PM (GMT)
I've been hearing about MS frantically working on a fix for this. It should be released today. Use Firefox or another browser until you can update it.

Last weekend, Microsoft researchers said that they had seen a "huge increase" in attacks, and that some were originating from legitimate Web sites. Another researcher added that about 6,000 infected sites were serving up exploits that target the IE vulnerability.

Microsoft adds that it is working on a fix but has offered no ETA on when that might happen.

I believe it was just downloaded with my auto update. Make sure you got it. I've heard of some credit card sites that were compromised.

I downloaded the update yesterday. Too scary.

Btw, I read an article that said the weaknesses in Firefox and other browsers are in the plug-ins aka add-ons. It said you were only as good on alternative browsers if you had all of your plug-ins constantly up-to-date.

^Yep thats the one according to this Yahoo blog :) http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/111811

Microsoft sends the needed patches/updates to your automatic update as you need them. They send the ones you need to have(the critical ones)

Whew, I was so paranoid after hearing this, I was getting suspicious of simple little emails sent to me by friends and deleting them. :rotfl:

Three rules I live by on my computer:
Always Update Windows and browsers!
Always Update your antivirus!
Make sure your firewall is running!
