Anyone watching? I absolutely adored the British version of this show, so I was a little skeptical that they would be able to pull off an American version, but I think they are doing a good job of it.
For those who have not seen it yet, the premise is that a police detective gets into a car accident and wakes up in 1973. Is he in a coma, dreaming, really in 1973, or just gone crazy? He tries to figure it out and see how he can get back home. In the meantime, he is a part of a police team and solves crimes, using some of his knowledge from the future to help.
They really capture 1973 well--the clothes, the cars, the music, the general atmosphere of that time.
It airs on Thursday nights ABC. You can catch up on the episodes on ABC's website.
Lately, I don't have a chance to watch much prime time tv so I wasn't even aware that ABC made a remake.
I did however watch and loved the BBC orig. and thought John Simm was excellent as Sam Tyler. I've also watched some eps of its' sequel "Ashes to Ashes" on the ytube. It's set in the 80's and Gene Hunt is still in it as are Carling and Skelton. Keeley Hawes is very good in it as DCI Alex Drake.
Thanks for the tip! :) Will try to catch some eps on ABC's website.
