Just a place to chat about the show

harleywoman - September 23, 2008 12:04 AM (GMT)
I'm excited. I love that Lacey is on it this year.

chloewannabee - September 23, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
I only saw half of it, had to watch Prison Break, so I'll finish watching it in the morning.

Linda4Elliott - September 23, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
I forgot it was on, so I missed the first hour. I enjoyed Warren Sapp in the second hr. That's about it! Misty May was okay.

Sorry I missed Lacey. I loved her. Next week!

TxRangerette - September 23, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
Brooke Burke was pretty good...enjoyed Warren also!

I Love Elliott - September 23, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
Brooke, Lance Bass

Lacy and Max

Love em

TxRangerette - September 23, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
Loved Lacey's choreography!

harleywoman - September 23, 2008 11:50 AM (GMT)
I liked Brooke, Warren, Misty May and of course, Lacey and Lance or "Lancey". LOL

In case you didn't know, MJ is covering the show this year for the first time, so whatever you missed you can probably see on her page. She's different from Rickey, he only posts vids of certain ones. MJ posts them all.

Thanks for this HW! I've been looking for a site with good recaps..

Didn't watch until this morning. Good show overall. Cloris was a hoot but I'm guessing she should go home. Either her or the comedian. Warren was amazing for his size...those football players are notoriously good, aren't they?

TxRangerette - September 24, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
Brook did well again! Toni Braxton was not bad. I was really surprised how Rocco changed overnight! He was actually sexy dancing the Mambo! Warren was still a delight to watch and Volleyball Olympian, Misty May was pretty good, too!

Efan2 - September 25, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
I think it's a shame that Ted McGinley was voted off instead of Cloris Leachman. His performance was much better. That's what I dislike about these shows.....personality overrides talent at times.

Yes, my mom & I felt so bad for Ted. I voted for him several times, because I knew he would be in danger with being close to the bottom of the scores, but not low enough to get sympathy votes. Plus all the votes for personalities. I appreciate personalities, too, but after awhile it gets on my nerves when good people go home. Ted was really trying hard, and I thought his dances were good. Especially his foxtrot the first night. I knew he wouldn't win, but he shoulda made it a little further. I loved him on Hope & Faith and on Married With Children. Nice guy, too. :(

I have so many favorites this season. I'm waiting to see how they all improve over the season to decide for sure. I'm just happy that Maks & Alec are on this season & that they're still there. I love them. :awe:

EYaminCDaughtryfan - September 30, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
I think Susan Lucci will go home this week.

harleywoman - September 30, 2008 01:38 AM (GMT)
I actually don't care who goes home as long as it's not Lance and Lacey. They give them a song like "I Kissed a Girl" and expect a traditional paso. Geesh! I may be in the minority but it actually pains me to see Misty Mae dance now. She looks so awkward to me, maybe it's because she's so tall.

Okay, what is the world is Warren supposed to have on. LOL

chloewannabee - September 30, 2008 01:10 PM (GMT)
PLEATHER!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Warren was a riot! But he does move good for a man of his stature!.
I only saw the second hour, the tivo was doing double time, and I HAD to record Prison Break. Well once again, I think it SHOULD be Cloris to leave, enuf of the comic relief, but she'll probably get enough phone votes to eke it out another week.
I think that the ultimate winners will be either Brook and Derek, or Toni and Alex

I don't think Lance will go home tonight. I think the judges were being extra picky last night with everyone. But like you said Lance & Lacey get a song like "I kissed a girl" and they want a traditional peso? The song is soooo not traditional. I liked what Lance & Lacey did a good thing with a song and dance like that, they put their own spin own it. I think if they would have done a traditional peso with a song like"I Kissed A Girl" they(the judges) wouldn't have been happy with that either.

Sometimes I think the judges tend to forget that these celebs that agree to be on the show have never danced ballroom in the entire lives. It's not going to be perfect!

Dancing is all about putting some of your own personality into it.

Oh and Warren's outfit: What was that? :rotfl:

Eta:I enjoy watching Warren dance. He's really good.

harleywoman - October 1, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
:woohoo: Pasha and Anya from SYTYCD (same season as Lacey) are dancing to Jessica Simpson.

realitymom - October 1, 2008 01:27 AM (GMT)
I know, I just watched it!! Wonder if yellin was able to catch it? She looooooves her some Pasha!

I really like all the couples, except for Kim K. & that is only because she isn't really loose enough. I really thought Cloris did pretty good last night. Better than what they scored her for. Brooke B. is really good. And I like Misty a lot...we tall women gotta stick together! LOL She does need to get better balance in her turns & stick her footing. If she can't get that fixed, she won't eb around much longer. Rocco is ROWR! I love Rocco. Soooooo adorable! Lance & Lacey are great & I enjoy their dancing a lot. HW, I am soooo with you about the 'I kissed a girl' song & then Len complaining it wasn't traditional enough. To a song like THAT?? I thought the routine fit perfectly.

chloewannabee - October 1, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
omg! Jessica Simpson...no words!

Efan2 - October 1, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Well, Cloris made it through again. Like Chloe said earlier, this will probably be it for her....should be anyway.

Expect Susan to make it to the final three no matter how well she dances.

Someone posted this at MJ's. Now I'm going to have to go to my Tivo and see if I see them. LOL

Backstage: Lacey’s Think You Can Dance Pals Visit

Dancing with the Stars was infiltrated Monday night by some of its stiffest dance competition: three heavyweights from Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance.

Sitting ringside was So You Think You Can Dance creator, executive producer and head judge Nigel Lythgoe, who has always made a point of praising Dancing with the Stars on the air. In another section of the ballroom sat So You Think judge Adam Shankman, who also directed the feature film Hairspray. And three seats down from Shankman sat the show’s Season 2 winner, swing dancer Benji Schwimmer.

“They all came to support me,” says new pro Lacey Schwimmer, who was a fan favorite during So You Think’s Season 3. Lacey really needed their support. Because even though she and her star, ‘NSync’s Lance Bass, have racked up three solid scores for their cha cha cha, quick-step and paso doble, they’re had their wrists slapped repeatedly by head judge Len Goodman for not doing traditional steps. “He’s really got it in for them,” says Shankman. “And it’s ridiculous, because the audience loves them. And they’re the only ones out there who look like they’re really having fun. Everyone else has these smiles plastered on their faces, but Lance and Lacey are the real thing.” .......

I think that the viewers got it almost right.

Leachman really should have gone, but after that I thought Kardashian was terrible.

I thought the praise for Susan Lucci was over the top as well.

Was it just me, or were the outfits worn by most of the women covering their legs to hide missteps?

AvivaDove - October 1, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
I didn't like those strange draping outfits.

Marc Broussard blog:

10/3 - Let Me Leave on Dancing With The Stars Monday, 10/6!

Hey everyone!

We wanted to let you know that on Monday, 10/6 on Dancing With The Stars, Lance Bass (former member of N*Sync and a big Marc fan!) will perform a dance to Marc's song "Let Me Leave" as part of the competition.

Be sure to tune in or set those DVRs for ABC on Monday at 8/7c!

chloewannabee - October 7, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)
I read today that Misty May is out of the competition, because of an Achilles injury.

chloewannabee - October 7, 2008 12:33 PM (GMT)

Oh No.....

I didn't bother to vote because I assumed that they probably wouldn't kick anybody off this week.

Hope Lance and Lacy make it through!!!!!!!!

harleywoman - October 7, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
I voted because the last time someone dropped out, they combined the scores and votes of the week they didn't eliminate with the next week's performance. Voting was encouraged last night as well.

I just love Lance and Lacey. I'm so tired of people posting on boards assuming she has no training just because she was SYTYCD. They base their comments off that show and don't bother to check her background. Even some of her fellow pros have said that she has limited ballroom experience. She's a Youth Latin champion. DWTS hired her as a Pro, enough said in my book.

Anyway, for kicks:

I thought I set my recorder.........but something happened.

Who got the boot? Or did anybody?

chloewannabee - October 8, 2008 12:51 PM (GMT)
Nobody got booted, but Rocco got the lowest score and would have gone home, if Misty had not dropped out.
arrrggghhhh!!! I hope the HELPS Rocco next week!, the old underdog thing often helps rather than hinders.
And c'mon, I mean Cloris deserves a lot of credit at her age , but seriously!!!!!!!

Thanks! She gets bashed a lot, don't know why. I just love her and Benji. I saw Benj and her parents in the audience Tuesday night. I heard they were there before but didn't see them.
