Description: All about TLG, MySpace, etc

I thought the name sounded familiar, as they were interviewed recently on our local radio station. They are a band, out of CT, and if you go to www.kiss957.com, there is a 6 minute video that gives some of their music samples in the background, as it talks about the beginnings of the band.

Thought you all would like a preview on the band touring with Elliott in the fall.........they seem really down to earth and have some of the same values as Elliott.

When you get to the home page, go about 1/2 way down on the right, there is a headline Up and Coming band......click on it for the video....

Pretty interesting and great way to get to know them ahead of time.

Thanks...I'll check it out.

I did a search on youtube for them. After listening I knew I was familiar with and liked their song Pictures of You.

Pictures of You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7ksR-HZSqI
and an interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjhVNDnohjc

I'm waiting for the hair comments from the interview :rotfl:

georgiafan1 - August 18, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
They are also on the VH1 countdown list. I guess we should give them some votes when we vote for Elliott so that we can help them get on the Top 20 chart next week. They have an ice cube now.

Thanks for the info and for the links.

ohioguy45780 - August 18, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
yes, now we must make it two votes each week on the VH1 list!

heck, with our voting block, we could make them 1 and 2!

shatner8 - August 18, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
thanks for the links, enjoyed the interview and really like the music too.
Digging the rock and roll hair styles too, and their dress.
should be an interesting combination on the tour
didn't know about the VH countdown, will make sure I vote (no ice cubes for Elliott or his friends, lol)

GypsyNFla - August 18, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
They are really good. I like their song Poison Kiss (on their myspace playlist).

Hey all you E-trainers/Elliott Yamin fans! Just wanted to introduce ourselves to all of you wonderful people out there who have been behind Elliott since day 1.
As most of you know Elliott has asked us to open for him on his upcoming fall tour. We have to tell you, what an honor it is for us to be able to be on that same stage as Elliott every night. We will do our best to make sure every night is a memorable one.
We are looking forward to performing for you all, and meeting every one of you on this tour.
If you would like to know more about us, you can visit our myspace page at www.myspace.com/thelastgoodnight or
www.thelastgoodnight.net
Our album isn't out yet, but arrives in stores on Aug. 28th, and the first single "pictures of you" is now on radio everywhere, as well as VH1, and soon to be MTV.

Thank you soooooo much, and can't wait for Oct 5th, going to be a lot of fun.

speak to you guys soon

Thanx

The Last Goodnight

(The new website will be up on Tuesday)

harleywoman - August 18, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
How cool is that! :rocker:

mike83 - August 18, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
They remind me of Maroon 5, anyone else? They are really good I think.

Isn't it funny they are with Virgin Records? Now the big wigs go crawling to "indie" Elliott who no one wanted to sign?

Anyways, they are legitimate talent, so this should help both of them hopefully. I can also see more guys go to concerts now because of them and become Elliott fans afterwards.

Etrainrider - August 18, 2007 12:21 PM (GMT)
That's wicked cool! :rocker:

Linda4Elliott - August 18, 2007 12:24 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the message. I look forward to hearing the band :)

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
They are so nice!!!!!! Someone suggested that we give them a vote on VH1 while voting for Elliott. I'm going to try and help them get rid of that ice cube.

That's what I started doing yesterday.

jamie50 - August 18, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
Go listen to Pictures of You on their Myspace. It's excellent and I liked them before I knew they were touring with Elliott.

mike83 - August 18, 2007 12:41 PM (GMT)
They are a legitimate opening act, no offense to Josh, but he doesn't have this kind of impact.

Look at the top 40 charts:

46 48 THE LAST GOODNIGHT Pictures Of You 804 784 20 1.847

HAC:

39 35 THE LAST GOODNIGHT Pictures Of You 416 340 76 1.121

Josh's song isn't even in the top 100 in POP and isn't charted in AC/HAC

That is what I mean by impact

Elliott and The Last Goodnight will draw in different people, making their relationship symbiotic. People will show up for one or the other and stay for both, reaching more people and hopefully gaining new fans and potential sales for each. Josh Hoge benefits by having fans of both acts in attendance (and hopefully he'll get his label deal back!).

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 01:16 PM (GMT)
Thanks!

bear88 - August 18, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
I'm listening to the music on their MYSPACE. They are EXCELLENT, could this tour possibly get better? They are original with a great sound.

auggiegirl - August 18, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
Wooooooooooooohoooooooooooo!

Efan2 - August 18, 2007 02:11 PM (GMT)
Smart move on their part. With the :etrain: behind them, there's no way to go but up. lol.

cfans - August 18, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
I really like "Pictures of You". I'm with Nancy; I'm going to try and help get them onto next week's countdown.

Rick1965 - August 18, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
Pictures of You is really good. Can't wait to see them live!

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
No more ice cube for The Last Goodnight on VH1!

AngELL - August 18, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
I love Pictures of You..the video is excellent..my DH has been in a wheelchair from a diving accident for 40 years...would love science to find a cure! that vid addresses some terrible social problems and important values..

Ebeliever - August 18, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
Ya know...........I have a feeling this is going to be a good fit. Going to their Myspace, I was pretty impressed. I too think a little like Maroon. I agree that having a live band tour and open for Elliott is going to be great for attracting concert goers. Everybody loves live bands and Goodnight's music seems a good compliment to Elliott's. As far as Josh goes, is Goodnight replacing Josh or are they being added to the tour "with" Josh?? Josh has been great, the crowd has loved him, great singer and performer, great vibes between he and Elliott....but in a way not enough contrast in he and Elliott's type of music to offer the audience that "bonus" factor.

I really felt good about Goodnight intorducing themselves to E's fans. Sound like good people.....but I don't think E would have it any other way.

Another chapter in E's career ........... It just keeps getting better and better!

georgiafan1 - August 18, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
That was incredibly nice of the band to send that message to E-Train. They seem like nice guys. I can see myself supporting them.

We will be lucky enough to have them and Josh on Elliott's tour. More to love.

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
Josh will play for 30 minutes first. The Last Goodnight will follow with a 30 minute set and then our E with an hour long set!

Is everyone voting for their video over on VH 1? http://www.vh1.com/shows/series/top_20_countdown/vote.jhtml
That would be so kewl to get them up to No. 2--right behind E of course!!!!
This is really becoming a full-time job!

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
I'm bumping because they want to add a reply! When? I'm not sure.

Judy - August 18, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
I dislike so much of today's music that I was apprehensive about this addition to Elliott's tour but they are really good! This tour should be a big success. Does anyone know how this came about?

Linda4Elliott - August 18, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
voting for both.....WFY in the #1 spot of course

nanassetta - August 18, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
:etrain: NO MORE ICE CUBE! :etrain:

Nope, no more ice cube, I voted for them several times, in the #2 spot of course, WFY always #1 for me. :awe:

But I think the song and video for The Last Goodnight is very cool, I like it a lot so it was very easy to vote for it.

As somenone who is disabled and in chronic pain I can relate to what you said. Most people treat us like we are freaks.

I am just happy I have finally got this Voice Activation software figured out. Except for a few typos it is pretty good. I can actually "type" faster than I did regularly at times. I guess you guys are stuck with more of me. :rotfl:
