JOSH HOGE/ELLIOTT YAMIN TOUR!!!

first off, i'm sorry to announce that i had to back out of the little run of shows i was gonna do with curtis peoples, and tony lucca. i like the hell out of both these guys (and i will hopefully join them again in the future) but i was offered something yesterday that i just couldnt turn down. i spoke to curtis and as a fellow musician he totally understood and as fans of mine i hope you do too.

i have become really good friends with elliott yamin (if you dont have his album, GET IT CAUSE HE'S THE s***) and he and his camp just offered me the opening slot on his tour starting in mid may! the dates will hopefully be ready to post later this week or next. we will be out for about 30 shows and hitting all over the us and canada. i am super excited to be getting to see some places out west for the 1st time and also revisiting LA again for a show. chicago is on the list which i love (not that i dont love any of your cities) as well as NYC baby!!! this is going to be a blast!!! on top of opening, i am also gonna be singing backgrounds for elliott in his set. and most fun to me, he and i are already discussing a jam together on a few songs each night!!! oh and did i mention, there will be lots of jack daniels had on this tour? haha you know me too well! so, please stay tuned for more details and tour dates listed soon.

hope to see you all soon!!! jhoge

That will be fun - so glad for him. I always look forward to seeing new artists.

harleywoman - April 18, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Way cool. I remember Elliott saying the he would not be an opening act but now he has one. He has ARRIVED! :rocker:

callalou - April 18, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know who Josh Hoge is?

et4elliott - April 18, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
I never heard of Josh. I'm still waiting for news of Elliott coming to Chicago. Not posted on the theater's website yet. I would prefer Elliott NOT to have an opening act. I want JUST Elliott

wishesforelliott - April 18, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
I got my tickets for the Milwaukee, WI show on Monday and they're up to about 240 in general admission just in presales.

I'd go to Chicago too, only it's on a Thursday night and I have to get up at 5:30 AM for work so I'll make do with Saturday's performance.

This is SO exciting! :rocker:

I don't know Josh Hoge and can't look at MySpace while at work so will do some research tonight, but if Elliott likes him then I like him!

I am so STOKED!!! Is anyone else going to the Milwaukee show at the Pabst Theater?

chloewannabee - April 18, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
I just listened to josh, and i like his sound. he sounds a lot like elliott, so not sure how i feel about him opening for e.hmmmm. what does everyone think? good thing? or not so good thing?

itslate - April 18, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
I love that he is doing backup... but sounding like Simon... that song on his myspace... he sounds a little nasaly. Reminds me of Chris... but I heard better songs on his web site.

samimama123 - April 18, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
I just want to say that I don't think anyone should feel "threatened" about this development...I doubt he and Josh compete with each other so no need to think of this that way..I have seen posts veering that way other places and I hope it doesn't spin here...I'm sure Elliott is thrilled to have him along..

kagey - April 18, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
I think that Elliott is thrilled also. He just mentioned it at the Seattle interview and seemed excited. To me, listening to Josh' sound I think that he and Elliott will compliment each other beautifully.
Also, if you look at Josh' myspace and webpage you'll see that he also has a large following. This will work well for both artists as they will draw in each others fan bases to the concerts and hopefully both will gain new fans.
I see it as great news and I'm excited for my concert.

Momsrule - April 18, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
I don't post much on this site, I'm always on the E_maniacs site. I will be at the Milwaukee show !!! I'm so excited !

I didn't mean it to sound as if i was threatened, just not sure if i was thrilled. i would much rather see JUST Elliott, as in the Richmond concert. But I'm sure if Elliott wasnt happy about it, then it would not be happening, so if it makes E happy, then I am fine with that. :grouphug:

MoNk3y_Fr3aK92 - April 18, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
he's not that bad either... :]

Moody's lovechild - April 18, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
He's a major label guy. Sony/bmg, Epic. Gee I wonder if maybe this was a decision made by someone outside his inner circle. Not that I think it won't help him.

estilrose - April 18, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
Someone said that Elliott mentioned on the radio this morning that Josh had been dropped by Epic so maybe not a big label act. I think it's great! The more good music I can find or that Elliott introduces me to the better!

catielyn - April 18, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
According to someone's post, he sang with Elliott at the Beach Ball Festival. Is there a youtube or video of that somewhere?

backporchpoet - April 18, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
That's really cool that Elliott gets to have an opening act. How many brand-new artists get to headline their own shows right out of the gate?

And that name Hoge sounded familiar to me because I'd heard of an artist named Will Hoge. I did a search, and sure enough, that's Josh's older brother. Will has two albums on iTunes, and Josh has a single and a song on a soundtrack.

If you look at his blog "The Latest Happenings", Josh talks about what happened with Epic.

I was planning on seeing E in Minneaoplis, but that city i no longer on the circuit. I haven't got my tickets for Milwaukee yet, but will be ordering them soon. I've never been to Milwaukee. Is it easy to get around there?

ohioguy45780 - April 19, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Typically, new artists like Elliott are THE opening act, so *whoah*!

Josh sounds great, and we should enjoy the music couplings.

Looks like he found a niche deal with Columbia, after Epic disowned him (probably didn't sell enough of those "units" as Clive likes to say)

May10787 - April 19, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Elliott has proven himself a smart guy, and he picks his people and opportunities studiously. I’m sure he picked the right artist to hook up with.

I like the sound of “…and Canada”. Maybe they plan more than just Vancouver. Canada is a small country in population, and a lot of our Provincial capitals and major cities are close to the US/Canada border.

Keeping my fingers crossed. To bad about Minneapolis, but Chicago to Winnipeg isn’t that far. In Winnipeg we have a newly built venue with really good acoustics, designed for not only sports but concerts (big and small). It has comfy seats, and every seat is a great view of the stage. The Concert Hall is good, and many of our small older theaters are classic.

An outdoor summer performance at The Forks would be amazing. Picture Elliott singing on an outdoor evening stage. It is a warm evening, a sky filled with stars and a few thin wisps of silver clouds for accent. His backdrop would be where the rivers meet, and in the distance you see the ruins of an old Cathedral lit with white lights. If you turn your head while listening to his voice you view a silhouette of the downtown’s small cluster of tall buildings fading into the night.

Heck, if nothing else is available, my backyard isn’t that big but I can knock down a block of backyard fencing and set up a bunch of lawn chairs.

Well maybe not this summer, but Elliott is going to be around for a long time, so maybe next year.

I'm happy because I love Josh Hoge and now I can finally see him live! His songs are great and he's posted better songs on his myspace that I love more then the ones currently up on there. But either way can't wait to see the show in June!

EmJay321 - April 19, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
Josh just posted this bulletin on myspace. Sounds like he has a great sense of humor just like Elliott.

Josh just posted a week 3 recap in his blog, I read the next bit and just smiled at how nice Elliott is to EVERYONE!

"so we leave there and head to milwaukee. now this turned out to be a fantastic experience! first, elliott was asked to sing the national anthem for the brewers game, and call me the night before and says "i want you to come with me, and i have a surprise for you". we're both huge sports fans and he knew that. so i go, walk out on the field with him and im like "this is the coolest thing ever"... so this guy comes over and shakes our hands, and then hands me a bag. i have an old friend from home that plays for the brewers named derrick turnbow, and we sort of lost touch over the last year or so. he was an allstar last year and i keep up with him as much as i can. long story short, he comes out of the dug out and we hang and catch back up! even better, the bag has a jersey in it, that has my buddies # on it, but HOGE on the back! ELLIOTT YAMIN IS THE s*** for thinking about me to do all that!!! "

Even with his busy as heck schedule, he manages to pull that off for Josh.

:)

:cheerleader1:

I am a complete josh hoge fan and was introduced to this site by his posts. If you haven't heard about him hes great, he has done many songs with nikki flores and cheyenne kimball and so on. He was to release his cd through epic and his single last year and his single 360 is awsome. He does have a very large fan base and we were all disappointed when the record deal fell through before the cd was release.

If you havent listened to him before you should definitely check out his myspace. there are some songs out there and also for any one interested in watching some videos of him singing live you can find some on youtube as well as some videos of him with elliot.

I have purchased his bedroom sessions volume one ep and it is awsome every song is great. also if anyone has cheyenne kimball's cd he sings a duet in there with her. And for those that watched high school musical he was the singer for the song Breaking Free with nikki flores.

WEEK 3 RECAP!!!

so as usual we're still racking up the miles out here. 15,000 will be traveled to be exact over this 6 weeks. so a busy 3rd week to recap...

started in lancaster pa, and let me just say OH MY GOD you people came to have a good time! this was the loudest crowd i know ive heard on the tour and elliott said the same! INSANE. so much fun, felt like a rock and roll show, not 2 white kids doing pop/r&b. :) enjoyed meeting everyone as usual and hope to come back soon...

from there came detroit michigan. oh detroit... i love the people there (fans/crowd wise) but as for that venue, its a different story. for the folks working there, instead of telling everyone thats where eminem got his start, they should ask mr. M to donate some of his $$$ to get the damn air conditioner on in there! its my 2nd time playing there and still keeps getting hotter. the devil would be pissed to have to sit in that heat! haha. loved seeing some familiar faces in the crowd!! :)

so we roll from michigan and have a day to kill so we stop and hang in chicago for the night. c'mon, DEEP DISH PIZZA!!! had fun, saw some friends, and so on.... (cant wait to hit chi town to play again this summer)!

so we leave there and head to milwaukee. now this turned out to be a fantastic experience! first, elliott was asked to sing the national anthem for the brewers game, and call me the night before and says "i want you to come with me, and i have a surprise for you". we're both huge sports fans and he knew that. so i go, walk out on the field with him and im like "this is the coolest thing ever"... so this guy comes over and shakes our hands, and then hands me a bag. i have an old friend from home that plays for the brewers named derrick turnbow, and we sort of lost touch over the last year or so. he was an allstar last year and i keep up with him as much as i can. long story short, he comes out of the dug out and we hang and catch back up! even better, the bag has a jersey in it, that has my buddies # on it, but HOGE on the back! ELLIOTT YAMIN IS THE s*** for thinking about me to do all that!!! so, on to the show. the most beautiful theater, packed house, and just an amazing experience! i got to play summerfest there last year and that compared nothing to this!!! THANK YOU!

roll out of milwaukee on cloud nine, and head for minneapolis. never been there before but a great first experience. cool (newer feeling club) but great turnout, and great meeting all sorts of new folks! i mean, prince is from there so how could you not wanna play and have fun in his hometown!!!

so we head out west now.... GAS PRICES SUCK, FAST FOOD SUCKS, but one thing is certain that im having a blast and ELLIOT YAMIN IMPRESSES ME MORE EVERY NIGHT!!! there is a little discussion of him wanting to continue to have me out again in august. that would be another huge honor, and i dont care what you say im keeping my fingers crossed!!! haha :)

hope everyone is well, and hope to continue to see you all. still gonna have pics up at some point just be patient. :)

shout out to the etrainers. im addicted to the site and even love the people who "dont care for me". haha.

cheers and cheesesticks!
jhoge

Oh my gosh, why are we not surprised!!!??? Elliott is at it again--being absolutely the sweetest thing!! Did y'all catch how he introduced everyone by singing their names during Train Wreck at the Pabst Theater?? It couldn't have been any more adorable--the youtube looked like RussELL was blushing, it was so cute!

I can't help but love this guy - his blogs are so funny! Sounds like he's having a good time on this tour - and Elliott is a doll as always. I think Josh has a "man crush" :-)

They compliment each other so wonderfully, and I appreciate how they each cheer each other on;) And yes, that was an EXTREMELY sweet thing that Elliott did for Josh, and it is equally sweet how Josh wears his ELLIOTT YAMIN shirt on stage;) Gotta love EM!!!! ;)

harleywoman - June 6, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
I have loved this guy since the first night at the Birchmere when I posted that you all would love him. Well, we KNOW he's reading the board. That's awesome. In my opinion, those guys are perfect together.

Josh, sweetie, there are a lot of E-Trainers that LOVE YA baby. :rocker:
